Worship

Worship Services

SUNDAY SERVICES are every Sunday at 9:30am and 5:00pm.

SPECIAL WORSHIP SERVICES take place on New Year’s Day, Prayer Day, Good Friday, Ascension Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

WHAT IS WORSHIP? We believe that worship is holy conversation between God and His people in Christ. Our liturgy emphasizes the preaching of the Word of God, which is the chief means of grace. The versification of the Psalms is used for singing in our worship services.

Sacraments

We believe that Jesus has instituted two sacraments. These are holy signs of the death of Christ and they seal to believers the righteousness which is by faith (Romans 4:11-13).

The sacrament of BAPTISM pictures the initial work of God in salvation. He washes away all sin and makes perfectly clean. Most frequently, the sacrament is administered to infants of godly parents.

The sacrament of the LORD’S SUPPER pictures God’s work of sustaining salvation in His people. He shows them their union with Christ and constant need for the saving power of Jesus’ death. The sacrament is administered six times during the year. Those non-members who wish to partake with the congregation must request permission from the elders.

Creeds

We hold to the four Ecumenical Creeds (Apostle’s Creed, Nicene Creed, Athanasian Creed, and the Creed of Chalcedon), four Reformed Creeds
(Belgic Confession of Faith, Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dordrecht, and the Compendium of the Christian Religion), and the
Liturgical Forms

Our Bible and Songbook

We use the King James Version (KJV) of the bible in our worship and study at Byron Center PRC.

We use the 2024 Psalter as the songbook for worship at our church. To read the words of the songs and listen to its music, please follow this link. This site is also a good way to sing the songs at home if you do not have a way to play the music.
